Correspondence with professors and amateur entomologists in the United States and England, and mail order houses concern history of entomology, focusing on butterflies and moths, publications and research topics, and insects other collectors sent him. Some letters sent to him while a graduate student; others while conducting research in England. Some personal correspondence is included. Of special interest is correspondence Wilkinson collected of entomologists, especially that of John H. Comstock of Cornell University and Henry J. Turner in London. Letters concern various topics in entomology and publications related to this field, 1803-1930.
